Financial Analyst (Varennes, QC)

Job Description:

The financial analyst is responsible for providing financial services to ensure accurate financial reporting. Reporting to the CFO, the financial analyst, among other things will be responsible for preparing month end financial statements, various financial analysis and establishing and monitoring internal controls. The ideal candidate will be working as part of a dynamic finance team and providing financial support.

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Produce and analyze the monthly financial reports
  • Prepares, analyzes and reconciles government remittances (DAS and GST / QST)
  • Provide support and financial analysis to upper management
  • Analyzes spending and variances with the budget
  • Submits the gap analysis to the managers and validates it with them
  • Work with the Accounting Technician to maximize the collection of receivables,
  • Carrying out quarterly commissions,
  • Works in collaboration with the CFO to implement and monitor the dashboard (s)
  • Participate in the budget process with the CFO
  • Collaborates in the preparation of SR & ED and eCommerce tax credit claims,
  • Prepares year end financial statements and documentation with the controller,
  • Supports the CFO in establishing and monitoring internal controls and policies and procedures
  • Supports the CFO in any other financial analysis required for decision-making.


  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance;
  • Minimum of one year of experience in accounting with the use of an ERP system;
  • Full experience of the accounting cycle;
  • Knowledge of the maestro* software, an asset;
  • CPA designation completed/underway is a preferred asset
  • Well-developed Microsoft Excel skills and ability to learn financial software/applications
  • Experience with SQL queries, an asset;
  • Basic knowledge of Power Bi software, an asset;
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work within tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills in French and English (written and spoken)
  • Dynamic, passionate & proactive.
  • Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and perform responsibilities within determined timeframes.
  • Strong analytical and judgment skills necessary to evaluate alternatives and formulate recommendations in support of management decision-making
  • Understanding of the software industry and its processes an asset;
